Ukrainian Railways offered cargo owners a new service of transporting containers by intermodal route trains to the Polish seaport of Gdansk from four Ukrainian cities: Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro and Vinnytsia.

This is a new convenient container transportation option with a full range of services. New container route trains will improve sea and inland communication and intermodal logistics chains between Ukraine and EU countries, Ukrainian Railways reports.
The operator of the specified transportations will be the "Lisky" transport service center" branch of "Ukrzaliznytsia", which offers a full range of services for the container transportation: providing containers, specialized rolling stock, loading and unloading operations, warehousing, storage of cargo, transport and customs documents registration, certification, etc.
The terminals are equipped to provide a comprehensive service, there are fitting and container platforms, containers, cranes, tractors. Route trains will provide efficient connections to the corridors of the main EU rail network.
Container route trains can be formed at four border crossings on 1435-1520 mm tracks: in Yagodin, Izov, Mostyska and Chop. Thus, Jagodin can be connected to the Baltic-Adriatic and North Sea-Baltic main railway networks, Mostyska – to the Baltic-Adriatic and Rhine-Danube trunk railway networks, Chop – to the main Rhine-Danube and Mediterranean railway network, Vadul-Siret – with the main railway network Rhine-Danube.
Newly established UR Cargo Poland branch, Laude Smart Intermodal S.A., PKP Cargo Connect acted as partners in the work of the new service.
Ukrainian Railways will also provide the service of cargo transportation in transit on the territory of Moldova. The agreement has been concluded between the "Transport Logistics Center" branch of "Ukrzaliznytsia" and the Moldovan railway operator Calea Ferată din Moldova (CFM).
The consignor will receive a "single window" service and will not need to conclude separate contracts for the rental of wagons, forwarding, and look for a counterparty. Ukrainian Railways will provide a comprehensive transportation service throughout the territory of both Ukraine and Moldova.
